Macy's: Spring 2010
In cooperation with our american partners, WOW-tours, we created the virtual layout for the MACY's stores. This "Virtual View" series proves again and again to be a very helpful tool for in-store merchandising.
Multimedia tour provides a unique in-depth experience for the visual merchandise managers and store employees in maintaining a universal outlook and charm throughout the entire USA, be it a store in Hawaii or in New Jersey.
Each of the main store sections had an instructional narrative to accompany the visuals. VOLUME, PAUSE/PLAY and FILE LENGTH features added a lot to the convenience of use. "View Narrative" function allowed to bring up the text for the audio files if the user could not listen to it.
Our newest technology solutions were implemented for this unique project. All the content is based on the XML-feeds. Everything from panoramic images, downloadable materials to the voice-narrative and even the menu itself. It brings the maintenance and updates for the tour to a whole new "super convenient" level.
Various printable and area-specific downloadable materials were made available through the bottom "features menu" for print-out or in-store merchandising demos. High-resolution zooming capability was added to the scenes as well.
Based on the feedback provided by over 25% of visitors, average rating for each of the categories was: 4.75 out of 5. Over 70% of visitors spent more than 20 minutes on the site and the project had about 22,000 hits during the first month.
