The Western Sun Cottage Village is scheduled to be finished by 2009, but the future inhabitants can visit it online now! In this project, we implemented our "Virtual worlds for sale!" motto completely.
As it was autumn when we began, the test shooting proved that panoramic photos of the gloomy autumn fog weren?t producing the feel of a warm, sunny summer vacation. So, the panoramas were taken to the artist, who then painted over them with more seasonally inviting scenery.
The houses were modeled in 3-D to give visitors the chance to study them from every angle. That was the easy part. More challenging was rendering an entire landscape in 3-D and perfectly placing every house.
Once that was complete, the scenery was populated by birds, fish, butterflies and flowers. And to make it an even more idyllic journey, an original sound track was recorded.
